Corosync Cluster Engine
Overall Score
2.8

Overview

The library implements Corosync’s core synchronization framework, handling state sharing across all cluster services during network partitions and merges. It defines four lifecycle events—init, process, abort, and activate—that let services record temporary data, execute interrupt‑tolerant synchronization, recover from processor failures, and finalize consistency once all messages are delivered. Built on top of this, the checkpoint synchronization algorithm automatically rebuilds checkpoint reference counts after every topology change, ensuring that open checkpoints are correctly tracked and released across the whole cluster. Together, these mechanisms provide a robust, extensible foundation for high‑availability applications that need reliable, coordinated state recovery.
