Overview

HAVP (HTTP Antivirus Proxy) is an open‑source HTTP proxy that transparently scans all web traffic with a variety of antivirus engines, from the free ClamAV library to commercial solutions such as Kaspersky, Sophos, and F‑Prot. It can operate as a parent or a transparent proxy, integrates smoothly with Squid or runs stand‑alone, and is designed for continuous, non‑blocking downloads. The project provides a simple configure && make && make install workflow, supports Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD, and includes configurable options for logging, mandatory file locking, and multi‑process scanning. By preserving your existing configuration on upgrades, HAVP lets you add robust, on‑the‑fly malware detection to any HTTP service with minimal disruption.
