Overview

The Central Authentication Service (CAS) is a mature, open‑source identity provider that delivers enterprise‑grade single sign‑on (SSO) and authentication for web applications. Built on Spring Boot and Spring Cloud, the Java server implements the CAS protocol while also supporting SAML 2, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2, MFA, and a wide range of credential sources such as LDAP, LDAP, X.509, and social identity providers. Its modular architecture lets you add features like authorization policies, HA clustering, and extensive user‑interface customization, making CAS a comprehensive platform for modern authentication and authorization needs.
