Node exporter
Overall Score
3.3

Overview

Node Exporter is a lightweight, Go‑based Prometheus exporter that scrapes a wide range of hardware and operating‑system metrics directly from *nix kernels and presents them over HTTP (default port 9100). It ships with a modular set of pluggable collectors—covering CPU, memory, filesystems, network interfaces, power, and many kernel‑specific subsystems—each of which can be enabled, disabled, or filtered using simple --collector.* flags. The exporter can be run as a native binary, deployed via Docker (with host namespace bindings), or installed automatically with Ansible, making it easy to integrate into diverse monitoring pipelines. With TLS support, extensive documentation, and a thriving community, Node Exporter is the de‑facto standard for exposing host‑level metrics to Prometheus.
