Overview

OpenSTA is a powerful, open‑source gate‑level static timing analyzer that operates as a stand‑alone executable, reading standard design formats such as Verilog netlists, Liberty libraries, SDC constraints, SDF delay annotations, and SPEF parasitics. It provides a flexible TCL command interpreter for specifying clocks, exception paths, and detailed timing reports, while its modular timing engine can be integrated into other tools via a network adapter. Built with CMake and supporting optional libraries like Eigen, CUDD, and ZLib, OpenSTA is released under the GPL v3 (with a commercial license also available) and can be compiled locally or run inside Docker containers.
