Overview

pgwatch2 is an open‑source, self‑contained monitoring solution that collects and visualises PostgreSQL performance metrics across versions 9.0 through 16. It works without requiring superuser rights or extensions, stores metrics in a choice of PostgreSQL (with optional TimescaleDB), InfluxDB, Graphite or Prometheus, and presents them through Grafana dashboards with built‑in alerting. The system can be deployed as a single Docker image, via Helm charts for Kubernetes/OpenShift, or as a lightweight “push”/“pull” collector configured through YAML, environment variables, or a central configuration database. Although pgwatch2 is now archived, it remains fully functional and documented, and the successor project pgwatch provides the latest features and enhancements.
