Overview

Pitrery is a lightweight, open‑source toolkit that simplifies Point‑In‑Time Recovery (PITR) for PostgreSQL 9‑14, handling WAL archiving, base‑backup automation, date‑specific restores, and retention management. After a decade of development it has entered Long‑Term Support mode, receiving only bug‑ and security‑fixes until its LTS period ends in December 2026. Installation is straightforward—just edit config.mk, run make && make install, and configure the archive_command to start securing your backups via SSH or local storage. The project is hosted on GitHub under a 2‑clause BSD license, and contributions are welcomed through the issue tracker.
