Overview

Self Service Password is an open‑source PHP application that lets users securely change, reset, and manage their LDAP credentials—including Samba passwords and Active Directory accounts—directly from a web interface. It supports a rich set of password policies (length, character classes, reuse checks, Pwned Passwords API, entropy, etc.) and offers multiple recovery options such as security questions, email tokens, and SMS challenges. Additional features include LDAP‑based updates of SSH keys, email, and phone numbers, built‑in CAPTCHA, mail notifications, hook scripts, and a REST API for integration. The tool can be deployed quickly via Docker or traditional packages for Debian/Red Hat, requiring only PHP 7.4+ and standard extensions.
