Overview

noVNC is an open‑source HTML VNC client that runs directly in any modern browser—including mobile browsers on iOS and Android—by leveraging WebSockets and a rich set of VNC features such as multiple authentication methods, advanced encodings (H.264, JPEG, ZRLE, etc.), and full clipboard support. It can be used as a standalone web application or embedded as a JavaScript library, making it easy to integrate with platforms like OpenStack, OpenNebula, and ThinLinc. With simple setup via the supplied novlc_proxy script or a snap package, you can instantly expose a remote desktop to the web without additional plugins. The project is actively maintained under the MPL 2.0 license and welcomes contributions from the community.
