Overview

Advanced Vrrpd is an open‑source, high‑availability daemon for Linux that implements the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) with virtually no external dependencies and a tiny memory/CPU footprint. It supports multiple interfaces, VLANs, optional virtual‑MAC handling, and can monitor peer processes and link status, automatically running user‑defined up/down scripts on state changes. The daemon also sends gratuitous ARP or magic packets to accelerate failover, while the companion Atropos client lets administrators query or adjust the master’s state in real time. This lightweight, fast, and fully configurable solution makes reliable failover simple to deploy in any Linux network.
